Wellness & Wine Cellar area in historic private villa in Castelnuovo Berardenga (Siena)

The Villa, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga in the province of Siena, was a rustic farmhouse before taking the shape of the current building which probably dates back to the first half of the eighteenth century; the transformation into a villa and the organization of the spaces in a unitary form in addition to the arrangement of the internal courtyard with a square plan, arcaded, can be traced back to this period. A long straight avenue flanked by two rows of cypresses interspersed with box hedges lead to the main entrance of the villa. The “ragnaia” attached to the villa is one of the few examples and one of the oldest preserved in the Sienese area. It dates back to the 16th century and was built by the Petrucci nobles who had vast estates in the area. The design involved furnishing internal and external spaces as well as transforming an area adjacent to the internal courtyard into a private SPA. A cellar for wine tasting has also been restored and furnished.
